GENERAL INFORMATION (AND DEADLINES)
FOR PAPER-GIVERS/PRESENTERS
Proposals for formal papers, presentations and/or posters are welcome. However, we request that the following guidelines be strictly adhered to, given the large number of submissions that are expected.
Proposals in the form of a brief summary/abstract may be submitted electronically or in writing. These should be sent to the most relevant SIG Chair or contact person (see the individual calls for papers and contact information in section six.). A copy must also be submitted to the Program Coordinator, Jennifer Wilby, E-mail: jmwilby@dial.pipex.com. If you submit the same proposal to more than one panel chair, please be sure to notify everyone concerned to avoid confusion later on. However, members of co-host organizations/groups should first get in touch with their own co-host contact person (see contact list in section 5) regarding participation in co-host panels.
All proposals for ISSS panel papers/presentations and poster displays will be screened for relevance and overall quality, and there will be prompt notification regarding acceptance. Given the large number of proposals that are anticipated, we can only assure one paper/presentation "slot" or one poster display. Additional paper/presentation and poster proposals will be considered on a space available basis. Late proposals, if accepted, may be assigned to the Poster Session (see below).
SIG and other panel chairs may, at their discretion, invite paper-givers to undertake early paper development and engage in on-line discussions of paper topics during the months immediately preceding the meeting. This contingency is provided for in the schedule below.
The following deadlines ARE CRITICALLY IMPORTANT:
Deadline for Proposals: December 1, 1999
Acceptance Notification: by December 31, 1999
Program Abstracts Deadline: April 1, 2000 ((Submit to Conference
Organizer))
Full Papers Due: April 1, 2000 ((Submit to Program Coordinator

Revised Papers Deadline: April 30, 2000 ((Submit to Program Coordinator
and SIG/Panel Chair))
SPECIAL NOTE: Registration forms and fee payments, including reservations for on-campus room accommodations if desired, must be pre-paid and accompany your submission(s) by April 1st at the latest. Without payment, your submission(s) cannot be processed. Canadians are urged to pre-register before the end of 1999, when the exchange rate will be adjusted to correspond more closely to the current rate.
PROCEEDINGS DEADLINE: Full copies of all formal papers, as well as summaries of keynote and plenary speeches and symposium/panel presentations, will be provided to all attendees at registration on a CD-ROM. (Hard, printed copies of the Proceedings, or individual papers, can be produced upon request at an extra charge.)
