Instance Specification Convergence (Watson)
This book covers many interesting aspects of the history of science, but is not at all system oriented. The focus is on the convergence of the academic disciplines; in my opinion the real story is the coherence of the universe, especially when viewed through a systems prism; the disciplines are secondary and will then follow. The real connection is among living systems, molecules, and atoms, not between biology and chemistry. ("The universe is not organized like a university" - Ackoff.) This gets close to unity but doesn't quite reach it.
