HUMAN SYSTEMS INQUIRY


for the 42nd Meeting of the
INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR THE SYSTEMS SCIENCES
(ISSS)

19-24 JULY 1998

The Human Systems Inquiry SIG is inviting you to contribute to its
Paper Session at the annual meeting. We welcome any submissions
connecting human systems inquiry to the conference theme:
Sustainable Technology and Complex Ecological and Social Systems.
A paper session consists of four 20 minute presentations
summarizing the papers of this session, which are to be included in
the proceedings, followed by 25 minutes of questions and answers.
The purpose of the SIG is to provide an arena for ISSS members to
present, exchange, and discuss: 1) ideas and viewpoints concerning
issues in systems methods and methodologies relevant to human
beings and the human condition, 2) applications of systems ideas to
systems practice in human contexts, 3) innovations in systems
methodology, and 4) systemically oriented case studies conducted in,
with, or by human activity systems.

Submit an extended abstract of a maximum of 300 words that
includes a sentence relating the conference theme to any one of the 4
SIG focus areas stated above.
Abstract deadline: 5 FEBRUARY 1998
